Server Administrator

Businesstaff has been retained by a San Diego County client to locate them a Server Administrator in a contract role. This position installs, administers, and optimizes enterprise level Servers in a high performance architecture environment. This person will be responsible in providing logical solutions, deliver reliable systems, and maintain quality standards.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain server environment 99.9% uptime.
- Active Directory Administration.
- VMWare Administration.
- Disaster Recovery and Planning.
- Server Procedure Documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 9+ years of Enterprise level IT experience in an administration, support and/or oversight capacity.
- Must have Windows Certification: MCSE minimum. Virtualization Administrator or equivalent certification/experience is helpful.
- Must have hands on experience with IBM and Dell Servers.
- Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008 and other operating systems.
- Expert knowledge of VMware is required.
- Working knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other relevant discipline and 5+ years of experience in server administration preferred.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools, such as MS SCOM, SCCM.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP and other network protocols and operating system configuration. 
- Specific knowledge of Windows platform(s) required, as well as some working knowledge of MS SQL, Oracle relational database(s), and virtualization systems.
- Knowledge of Netbackup/Backup Exec. Some technical knowledge of Scripting code using Windows Script Scripting tools.

Contract rate is $50 to $60/HR.
