RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for Mainframe Tape and Storage

Installation and maintenance for storage related products

Document current and future storage environments

Produce management reports for applications and subsystems

Interface with Customers lines of business

Evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements

Implements policies for storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance.

Support the Disaster Recovery plan for the Mainframe environment

Create and Maintain DR scripts

Documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for capacity related issues.

Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models.

Installs and maintains ISV as needed (Unicom/Macro4, BMC, CA)

COMPETENCIES:

DFHSMS

VTape: specifically IBM TS7740

Merrills Modules(MXG) and SAS programming skills in an AIX SAS environment reporting on z/OS

General problem determination skills

SMF/RMF experience

SMPE experience

Mainframe Automation (BMC Control M and Control O)

CA1 Tape Management

MISCELLANEOUS RESPONSIBILITIES:

On-call every 4th week for Off-Hours Support (7X24 coverage)

Weekend change management cycles
