Senior Wintel Engineer

My client is urgently seeking an experienced Senior Wintel Engineer who has worked in a managed service environment. This role is based in North Ryde for an initial 3 month contract with a view to extend.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

- Support client infrastructure across numerous technology streams with the objective to continue to drive improvement and a reduction in rework and operational errors.
- Provide support for the following areas; VMWare, Windows Operating Systems, SAN, and Server Hardware, Citrix CCA in XenApp, Enterprise Archiving software, Exchange, TMG.
- Perform daily maintenance and problem resolution, Windows system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
- Perform daily maintenance and problem resolution, Windows system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration. Ensure all windows device configurations and changes are backed up successfully on a daily basis and/or after a change has been made.
- Act as the point of technical escalations from the Wintel engineering team. Provide technical direction and troubleshooting where required and is involved in problem ticket resolution and corrective actions.

TO BE SUITABLE FOR THIS POSITION YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Must have 4 + years' experience in administering Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 server systems as a system administrator
- Must have 3 + years' experience in administering VMWare ESX server as a system administrator
- Experience working with SAN and server hardware
- Experience in Citrix CCA in XenApp
- Experience Enterprise Vault
- Backup Exec
- Exchange 2007, 2010
- Experience administering and supporting backup and antivirus systems
- Exposure to DR methodologies and planning
- Exceptional problem solving skills and customer service skills
- Experience working in an ITIL aligned environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- MCSE 2003 Server or MCITP Enterprise qualification - 2008 & 2012
- VCP qualification
- ITIL Foundations certificate
