SENIOR WEB APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Rockville, MD.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Application development for account reconciliation, investment management, portfolio advisory, performance measurement, etc
- The Senior Web Application Developer is responsible for UX-design and implementation of highly complex data-driven web applications.
- More specifically, the role involves: collaborating with IT and business stakeholders on clarifying the problem definition and a vision of user experience spanning a number of pages, drafting UI mockups, building individual web pages as well as reusable components, integrating with Server Side technology providing the data, adhering to a style guide as well as providing suggestions for style guide improvements, working closely as part of a team of peers solving the problem together, staying up to date on and providing a general guidance to the rest of the team on the latest web technologies, techniques and best practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- At least five (5) plus years of experience as a client-side web developer.
- Solid fundamentals: HTTP, CSS, DOM, JavaScript, browser architecture (page loading, parsing & rendering, event loop)
- Hands on with industry trends and best practices (data binding, responsive design, unit-testable JavaScript, pub/sub messaging etc.)
- Good grasp of browser compatibility challenges (historical standards, rendering glitches, mitigation techniques, mobile-specific issues)
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of component libraries and helper frameworks (jQuery is not enough)
- Our systems are built on ASP.NET MVC, using Knockout.JS, Visual Studio.NET 2012, Subversion, and TeamCity. Because this role focuses on the browser-side, familiarity with Microsoft technologies is a plus but not a strict requirement.
- In the absence of ASP.NET MVC experience, familiarity with any Server Side web platform, like RoR, Django, or Node.JS is a plus.
- Because our web apps are a lot more about complexity than cosmetics, this role does not suppose a particular focus on graphical design but having a general feel for layout, colors, and typefaces would be a plus.
- The role requires hands on skills using the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XHR+JSON, JQuery o Knockout.Js or any other client-side data-binding technology (Angular etc.)
- CSS grid frameworks
- CSS reset scripts
- Fluid- and fixed-width layouts
- Debugging tools like Firebug, IE and Chrome dev tools, Charles Proxy
- Web page load speed optimization
- Web page performance and memory leaks troubleshooting
- Subversion or any DVCS
- LESS.CSS or any other CSS preprocessing framework

- ASP.NET MVC
