Senior User Experience Researcher Job

SENIOR USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Walnut Creek, CA.

- User research and usability testing of applications
- User-centered design

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Work with design and project teams to develop and conduct primary user research that may include, but is not limited to, exploratory research, field studies, surveys and interviews
- Facilitate usability testing and user-feedback sessions (sometimes partnering with interaction design); prepare reports and other deliverables, summarizing qualitative and quantitative findings from user-research studies, usability tests and other user-feedback sessions for design team and product managers
- Work with interaction designers, process designers, and project teams to integrate usability testing and user feedback sessions at a variety of points in software and service design cycles
- Develop test plans and test schedules in collaboration with project teams

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Five (5+) years' experience in user research and usability testing of applications, with a strong focus on the user experience and/or human factors
- Two (2+) years' experience participating in user-centered design in software development cycles; also preference for experience designing user-feedback opportunities in non-software projects (process design, service design, work flow, face-to-face interactions)
- Preference for candidates with experience in mature companies, dealing with both Legacy systems and new technologies
- Eclectic tool kit of approaches for including user input into design of software, business processes, and work environments (guerilla, as well as formal test approaches)
