Senior Technical Test Analyst (Calypso, Automation, JAVA)

THE COMPANY

Our client is one of Australia's leading and largest Financial Services Organizations and are expanding its operations beyond the Australian shores. The organization is current investing large sums in Investment Technology (Institutional Banking) and has a large range of financial offerings to both public and private clients across the retail, corporate and institutional banking areas. They have a very large technical footprint that combine a dynamic range of technologies in a complex landscape. They currently require a Senior, Technically Focused Test Analyst with experience on the Calypso Trading Platform and strong Test Automation skills.

THE TEAM

The team is responsible for improving and support a range of electronic trading systems for the organization, one of which is the Calypso platform and includes a wide range of talented technologists including: Developers, Testers, Business Analysts, Environment Engineers and Application Support Analysts. It's essentially a self-sufficient team within the company and they're looking for another Senior Tester with Calypso expertise to bolster the teams' expertise in this area.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for complete, end to end testing of the Calypso/FX Trading system and related pricing engines in what is a complex and fluid environment. There will be a mix of BAU and project initiatives and strong focus on test automation (QTP) but you'll employ the full gambit of testing methods including but not limited to: ST, SIT, Regression and Performance testing. There's an array of open source and vender test management tools at your disposal (eg QC - Quality Centre or Rational tool suites) and you'll need to have solid SQL Scripting skills along with experience testing in multi-platform environments (Windows Server, UNIX/Linux etc).

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

- 6 - 8 years testing experience within financial markets (essential).
- Extensive experience testing the Calypso trading platform (essential).
- Strong Test Automation experience, eg QTP - QuickTest Professional (essential).
- Proficient with SQL Scripting and OO programming, ideally Java (essential).
- Experience with: SIT, Regression, UAT and performance testing.
- Multi-platform environment experience (Windows, Linux) and SQL skills.
- Strong understanding of both the SDLC and Project life cycle.
- IT Degree/Diploma or Industry relevant certifications (eg ISTQB).
- A solid understanding of FX, eFX, Commodities and related financial instruments (desirable).
