Je functie: For one of our custumers we are looking for an eperienced System Engineer VMWare
He will be part of a team that is responsible to design, manage, monitor and support the entire vmware ESX setup in a large enterprise environment.
He will report to the Infra Win Team manager.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience with vmware vSphere ESX
Je profiel: Thorough expertise with relevant infrastructure technologies:
Vmware vSphere 4.x, 5.x and 6
Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2 OS platforms
Solid understanding of SAN/NAS storage technologies with significant exposure to storage platforms (EMC and NetApp preferred).
Practical skills required for the installation, configuration, security and management of VMware ESX.
Provide expertise in troubleshooting virtualization and O.S. performance issues
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, PowerCLI).
Familiarity with data replication technologies, server migration and disaster recovery strategies
Demonstrate a clear understanding and expertise of networking technologies in a virtualized environment.
In-depth knowledge of VMware vCenter, HA, DRS, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting abilities and in-depth knowledge of ESX platform.
Experience with ESX performance tuning.
Familiarity with security issues and best practices in virtual environments.
Experience with Windows Server OS, SCCM 2012 for deployments on servers, patching, citrix is considered a plus
Must be adept at identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks and making performance-related recommendations (hardware, software, configuration).
Experience with HP hardware and HP SIM a plus
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Develop documentation for new technologies that will be supported by other groups
Excellent verbal and communication skills (Dutch, French and English)
Excellent organizational and written documentation skills
Ability to focus and work well under pressure
Involvement in 24x7 rotation of an on-call guard system
Occasional evening and weekend work
