Multi-billion euro company with significant IT operations based in Galway has a 12 month contract requirement for a Storage Engineer. You will be part of a 3 million euro data centre migration project and you will be the Subject Matter Expert for EMC Storage.
The IT team consists of 2000 professionals spread across the globe. You will coordinate with offshore teams currently based in India and America. You will join a local team of 24 IT professionals who have specified that apart from the hire being excellent at what they do they must be able to take a joke!
DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB DUTIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Provisioning storage on EMC VNX and DMX platforms. EMC features involving thin provisioning, Brocade SAN (FOS (Fabric OS), during migrations. Possibly responsible for HP EVA's. standard thin VP storage practices and FAST for an EMC VMAX 40k familiar with both CLI and GUI interfaces with EMC VMAX Proven proficiency in working with Brocade SAN FOS (7.x) and NPIV, again both via CLI and GUI Afterhours and weekend work in order to accomplish and meet the schedule Other duties may include day to day storage allocation for project Servers and being included in an after-hours on-call rotation. Additionally, the individual needs to be able to troubleshoot issues and communicate with strong verbal and written skills. The hiring manager is prepared to offer some flexibility for home working up to 2 days a week max (depending on workload).
