Senior Software Engineer/Developer (Oracle)

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Oracle Database development, with demonstrable experience with development of SQL and PL/SQL code. The individual will have a strong client and focus and be results orientated. The role will require excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills to work with project teams located in multiple geographic locations.

Responsibilities
Develop, unit test and deploy SQL, PL/SQL
Make enhancements, bug fixes and performance improvements
Review ibatis queries created in the Java Layer
Interact with Database, Applications analysts and Business users for requirements gathering and validation
Work with the quality assurance team to build test plans to validate that new systems meet the business requirements
Understand functionality by reviewing code
Work in project delivery teams using the Agile methodology

Qualifications
Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Oracle Certification would be highly desirable.
At least 5-7 years of development experience in Oracle 11g & PL/SQL
Exposure to Exadata/RAC will be desirable
DBA Skills will be required
Experience in working in UNIX environment, in Shell Scripting preferably C-Shell/K-Shell
Comfortable with multiple database concepts, ie RDBMS, OODB, ODS, Warehouse.
Familiarity with logical data modelling and relational database design.
Experience in working with source control systems (preferably Subversion).
Role may involve some travel outside Ireland.
Additional skills desired, but not required:
Data movement and ETL experience (preferably Informatica)
Reporting tools (preferably Webfocus)
Experience using Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence and Jive)
Financial systems knowledge (preferably brokerage or mutual fund knowledge.)
