Senior Research Technologist,Biochemistry

The Senior Research Technologist operates as an advanced-level research technologist by assisting the principal investigator with the data collection and analysis for research projects. The lab is interested in chromatin regulation by writers and erasers of epigenetic marks and how they are altered in cancer. We use fission yeast to interrogate chromatin biology through genetic manipulation. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with experience in or interest in learning yeast genetics, molecular biology (PCR, cloning, mutational analyses, cDNA prep and real time PCR), Chromatin immunoprecipitation, ChIP-SEQ, RNA-SEQ, protein purification for mass spec identification of protein complexes and modifications, recombinant protein expression, in vitro chromatin modification assays. Ideal candidate is interested to join a fast-paced, exciting and rigorous environment, and has strong organizational skills.

The Senior Research Technologists properly conducts specific projects, maintains efficient laboratory operations and may assist in training other laboratory personnel. Performs other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department. (MJP)
