SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Research Officer. The work will include developing methods to process large datasets, and developing a number of survey quality measures to ensure that the team are able to produce timely and good quality outputs from the survey.

POSITION HOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibilities include:
Experience of the practical aspects associated with collecting, processing and using large scale datasets; employ statistical/analytical problem solving skills to conduct analysis using of SAS and STATA software in undertaking the above; to produce supporting information for statistical research or outputs, such as metadata and operational and quality documentation; liaise closely with other staff in the immediate work area.

- Experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative social science including statistical content.
- Experience of manipulation of large datasets and in quality assuring outputs
- Computer literate, with experience of working with a variety of software, including STATA and or SAS/SPSS.

QUALIFICATION(S)

At least a second class honours degree in a numerate discipline, or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience or other means, or a postgraduate qualification that contains an element of numerate research and analysis
