SENIOR QA ANALYST AUSTIN, TX 12 MONTH CONTRACT

Must have skills:
Strong knowledge of UNIX and DB2 database along with strong knowledge of web services testing using automation tools such as Cucumber/Ruby/Selenium. Candidates must be senior level (10+ years of experience) who can work on their own independently and take ownership.

NICE TO HAVE: Knowledge of defect tracking software ClearQuest is a plus.

Job Description:
This position is for a Senior QA Analyst on the Risk and Authentication team. The role is for a self-organized QA Engineer with solid web application and web service testing experience and strong knowledge of UNIX and DB2 database. The candidate will perform Test Lead and hands-on activities including coordinating with development and test teams to ensure seamless integration testing for Risk Projects. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team's needs.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Document and execute test plans, scenarios and scripts, and manage test artifacts/deliverables
- Log software defects in the defect tracking tool (ClearQuest) and track to closure
- Review requirement documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness or to mitigate risks
- Participate in design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
- Document and review plans, schedules, data needs and scenarios for end-to-end integration testing including areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
- Manage QA environments and perform application deployment and troubleshooting
- Develop close working relationships with members of teams within the organization
- Coordinate with offshore development and test teams and facilitate issues resolution
- Become knowledgeable of client's core technology, infrastructure and standards
- Interface with other groups to test and implement solutions
- Support and maintain Risk web, Risk services and batch jobs critical to the day-to-day functions of global business units
- Participate in code reviews with team members and third party vendors
- Provide support to UAT in terms of data set up and support activities
- Proactively identify QA risks and escalate as needed, and collaborate with PMO, QA and Dev teams to identify mitigation
- Provide regular, up-to-date status reports for the Risk area and overall status reports for the project covering progress and state of end-to-end integration testing activities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required
- 8-10 years experience required

SKILLS:

- Strong knowledge of UNIX and DB2 database
- Strong knowledge of database query tools and able to write and run complex queries in Oracle and SQL databases for data validation
- Strong knowledge of web services testing using automation tools such as Cucumber/Ruby/Selenium (Required)
- Strong knowledge of test management tools such as HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) (Required)
- Strong knowledge of defect tracking software (Required) such as ClearQuest (Preferred)
- Strong ability to collaborate with other individuals and coordinate activities across teams
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
