Senior Python Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an exclusive opportunity to work for one of our leading financial services clients in Zurich. We are looking for a Senior Developer to be part of a brand-new Greenfield initiative within the IT service solutions department, who supports the project in developing near-Real Time data collection and processing capabilities, preferably based on open source technology.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement first minimal viable products (MVP) in Python, in order verify quality of specific data streams and to demonstrate the added value of analysing this data
- Design and implement solutions to collect data from different sources, with minimal latency.
- Design and implement a data processing pipeline to enrich and analyse streams of data.
- Development, testing and documentation of the implemented solution

THE SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:

- Self-motivated and highly proactive attitude, also when it comes to documentation.
- Hands-on experience in implementing data streaming analytics solutions, ideally based on open source, eg Apache Flink or similar.
- Advanced proficiency Python programming
- A good understanding of cyber security concepts
- Fluent in English

- Understand complex technology stacks and their dependencies
- Understand operational as well as security requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Work in a global company with people having different cultural backgrounds
- Appear as professional and communicate target group related
- Assume responsibility and drive projects autonomously

The role is English speaking - German is nice to have but not mandatory. Based in Zürich, the contract will be an initial 3 months, with a high potential to extend beyond this.
