Senior Project Manager OEMS

This is a contract opportunity running through the end of 2013.Overview

Our Client requires a Senior Project Manager to manage an OEMS (Operational Excellence Management System) project.

This role will involve: - Apply an integrated and comprehensive project management capability to achieve/support business strategic objectives.
- Mentor/supervise and coach others in project management tools and communicates key learnings.
- Lead stakeholder negotiations to set standards, resolve issues, manage expectations, clarify/refine project scope and objectives, priorities, timelines, budgets and resourcing.
- Quantify delivery risks and impact of scope creep and assesses opportunities and applications to align/improve/standardize project management processes.
- Establish strategies for project definition and project management, ensures strategic alignment of project across business units and/or functions.

Role and Responsibilities

- Coach and mentor the project team staff and provide day to day direction to the team
- Ensure staffing plans are developed and functional coverage is maintained for the Project
- Identify key project resources and jointly with the Suncor Managers
- Provide leadership in the within the project team.
- Develop the project budget estimates for project scope of work
- Work with the project team to develop the project schedule and conduct regular reviews and updates to the schedule based on project progress and change
- Integrate the change management process and approval of all change orders
- Review and provide input into the project turnover strategy (and commissioning with BU/Function if applicable)
- Manage the implementation or rollout of the process and standard
- Conduct lessons learned sessions
- Review all performance indicators and provide input/take action where required to ensure targets are met
- Manage and apply risk management to project risks to ensure risk is minimized
- Manage the manpower loading requirements by reviewing the manpower trends
- Develop the project documentation plan and oversee the management of the project documentation
- Work with Communications/Change management and provide input
- Oversee preparation and delivery of the Closeout Report.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

- Strong negotiation skills to enable various stakeholders to align
- Ability to transform high-level objectives into an achievable scope and deliverables
- Must have a strong and demonstrated focus on schedule management
- Experience handling projects from 1M to 5M and duration of 6 months to 2 years
- Ability to manage teams between 5 and 20 resources
- Understand and has demonstrate adherence to Project Implementation Methodology
- Understanding of integrated Oil and Gas business domain
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain accurate, detailed information and timely reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Customer service mindset
- Flexible and able to change direction quickly.
