Senior Project Manager/6 Month Contract/$60-65 p/hr

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for 6 month+ project in the Smyrna area. This resource will play a key role in managing and coordinating activities for multiple teams that are carrying out large-scale software implementations. You must be comfortable working with Developers, BA's, and other Project Managers. Expert level experience in Agile and Waterfall environments is required. We are trying to morph our implementation process from a traditional waterfall approach to a more agile process. This person would need to be flexible enough to facilitate and enhance that progression without placing excessive stress on the team. A successful PM here must be patient but persistent, engaging, have the ability to effectively relate to team members as well as management, be a positive, energizing force on the project.

Responsibilities:

- Organize and lead cross functional project teams of various size and scope, including cross-site teams
- Develop, review and approve plans for completing project deliverables, including scheduling and coordinating activities of project team members
- Facilitate team participation, conflict resolution and consensus building
- Mentor others on the use of corporate standard project management tools and methods
- Apply best practices towards the management of project risk and risk mitigation
- Build rapport with project stakeholders
- Strengthen relationships with business partners and customers by fostering a culture of continuous exchange of innovative solutions
- Review/approve milestone deliverables for presentation to the customer and other project stakeholders
- Track issues and their resolution throughout the life cycle of the project
- Direct the development and implementation of metrics and measures for process and application monitoring and improvement

Requirements:

- 5+ years project management experience at a Senior-capacity.
- Fast-paced and capable of driving forward to project initiatives on tight deadlines.
- Experience with Projects dealing with Process Improvement & System Conversions as well as new system implementations is preferred
- Application development (SDLC) and client implementation project experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-platform programming languages and supporting infrastructures, including web-based technology
- Experience with business system design, testing techniques and methodologies
- A solid understanding of capabilities, features and limitations of system development tools and technology standards
