Senior Project Manager

Well-established and growing company has an immediate need for a Sr Project Manager for a long-term contract position. In this role, you will work on both infrastructure and web-based/software-related projects of all sizes. You will share resources with two other PMs, and you cannot be married to one methodology approach - too much Agile or too much Waterfall will not work. They need a mature, effective PM who can work with business users, guide Corporate on budget and resource needs (developers, BAs, network/systems engineers), and take ownership of responsibilities while being nimble and fluid (not rigid) in your approach. This position will be an on-going need - a person who is amenable to contract work is needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work within standard project methods, ensure documentation is produced to support the project life cycle.
- Communicate effectively with business users, project resources, and management regarding deadline and establishing expectations.
- Handle project budgets including tracking hours, partnering with Corporate on budget needs.
- Assist with the identification of resources needed for projects and allocate responsibilities.
- Manage daily operational project characteristics and scopes.
- Review deliverables prior to moving to other areas of the business (internal/external).
- Manage the exposure and risk.
- Ensure project designs conform to consistent standards.
- Make sure project documentation is organized, thorough and kept up to date.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 7+ years project management experience, ideally a blended background working on both web application/software and infrastructure-related projects.
- Must be comfortable working in a Waterfall environment.
- Highly motivated, confident, and possesses an innate ability to own a project from start to finish.
- Works well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable and decisive as it pertains to making key decisions.
- Excellent people skills - can motivate and influence others in a diplomatic way.
- Preferences include eCommerce experience; financial services.
