Senior Programmer/Analyst

SUMMARY

- May assist project leadership in designing the approach for a project, estimating/planning, and setting the technical direction.
- Writes specifications that will meet the business needs, legal requirements, and comply with applicable standards.
- Looks for ways to improve the development process.
- Acts as consultant to development groups to enhance existing business applications and to facilitate the definition of solutions to meet business requirements.
- Provides input into implementation plans for projects.
- Ensures that all related applications are consistent with overall organization business strategies.
- Ensures that deliverables meet I/S quality standards.
- Participates in developing standards for their area of expertise.
- Determines design strategy and provides systems design in a specialized and highly complex area.
- Collaborates with project leadership to design and monitor necessary testing and implementation plans.
- Participates in long-range planning for new or existing systems.
- Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies/legal requirements, and where appropriate makes recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies.
- Strives to maintain an understanding of other technology and/or business initiatives outside of current projects to ensure alignment and integration where possible.
- Creates and/or reviews manuals, how-to procedures, and related user documentation in a variety of formats. Ensures documentation is targeted to the appropriate audience.
- Codes, tests, troubleshoots, and documents programs according to system standards.
- Interfaces with vendors to troubleshoot, apply patches, and ensure the effectiveness of vendor-supplied packages.
- May provide on-call emergency support services for critical applications.
- Responds to questions from clients and analyzes what-if scenarios

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-10 years of experience with the following technologies:
- Java/J2EE technologies (5-10 years)
- Web Services
- SQL
- HTML (1 year minimum)
- Development tools - Eclipse IDE, SVN
- Spring Framework
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of business users, developers, and members of interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
- Proficient in front and Back End web technologies, eg HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, web analytics, metrics, responsive media queries, native mobile application design and development
- Quality assurance management and testing experience
- Testing automation experience a plus
- Experience with web based infrastructure components, eg web and application Servers, databases, content delivery networks
- Familiarity with Agile development process
- Strong organization and problem solving skills
- Highly adaptive and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently
- Requirements definition and management experience
- Support and incident management experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Prior experience in food service industry and familiarity with nutrition information (eg, nutrients, allergens, ingredients, legislation) is helpful.
- Ability to perform and deliver in a challenging, fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university
