Senior Procurement Officer/Buyer - £375p/d Ltd - Bristol

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer/Buyer contract to work in Bristol.

This is a contract role paying up to £375p/d Ltd and is initially a 3 month contract

The Role:

Delivery of commercial services to customers. These comprise commercial support throughout the life of projects and programmes from initial procurement strategy development through to project/programme closure.
The Ships Commercial team is a busy/dynamic environment with procurement activity that cover the full spectrum of Defence acquisition from commodity contracting to commissioning state of the art research and development and multi million pound contracts. These requirements are delivered through a variety of commercial models ranging from simple low value competitive contracts to bespoke highly complex single source contracts

Key responsibilities:

Lead on the commercial aspects of the Maritime Platform Systems programme providing advice, management and direction of commercial issues, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and MOD commercial policy.

*Provide commercial support to the Maritime Platform Systems in-service support project team on the approvals and scrutiny process. Providing support to the Business Case. Provide commercial assurance and briefing material to senior management.
*Ensure Due Diligence is achieved.
*Develop the procurement and commercial strategies for the Maritime Support Systems in-service support programme.
* Implement the agreed procurement strategy, and manage the transition of new contractual arrangements to designated contract manager(s).
*Lead and prepare pre-procurement engagement; develop the assessment phase and the ITT supporting documents.
*Develop and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders.

*Contract Initiation
*Strategic thinking - developing commercial strategies & programmes, Contracting - implementing commercial strategies - develop route to contract - develop terms and conditions.
*Contract Management experience - supplier performance assessment pro-actively monitor, control and manage all activities necessary to ensure the contractor delivers the goods, works and services
*Negotiation skills
*Stakeholder management
*Defence market experience
*Desirable - understanding of government procurement regulations and MoD commercial policy.

*SC Clearance will be required before starting in this role*
