Senior Press Officer

Press Officer, Media, Public Sector

Spring Technology are looking for a Press Officer for our Public Sector client based in Liverpool or Darlington.

The requirements for the post are for a person with significant experience and skills in delivering media relations. The post will also explore new media channels to engage with its audiences.

Key tasks include:
* To lead on the development and implementation of innovative and effective media plans
* To lead and manage the press office
* To deliver effective organisational reputation management
* To implement the media relations programme and to advise SMT, Board and other senior managers as required.
* Ensure delivery of a first class media service.
* To develop strong working relationships with the media, government press teams, stakeholder and allied organisation's press teams

Responding to media enquiries;
* Reviewing media coverage
* Writing media releases
* Managing the Out of Hours media handling;
* Out of Hours media handling requires inclusion in an out of hours rota. The successful candidate would be required to be part of this rota. This would require being on call for any media enquirydelivering creative approaches to the media to ensure understanding and positive coverage)
* Strong writing ability
* Influencing and negotiating skills
* Public sector experience
