Senior Practitioner - CIN

We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Children in Need (CIN) Team in Luton.

Your duties will include
- Undertaking initial and core assessments in respect of children and young people referred as being ‘in need'
- Undertaking child protection enquiries in respect of children and young people referred as being ‘at risk of significant harm' either as a single agency representative or jointly with the police
- Attend and arrange CIN meetings
- Assuming case responsibility for children and young people assessed to be ‘in need' or ‘at risk of significant harm' ensuring that services are provided or arranged proportionate to their needs
- ‘Key worker' responsibility for children and young people with a Child Protection Plan
- ‘Key worker' responsibility for young people who are subject of risk management plans
- Writing reports to a high standard and within given timescales
- Ensuring all work undertaken is in line with the relevant legislation, guidance and procedures
- Ensuring accurate and up-to-date record keeping
- Liaising with other professionals

You should have excellent knowledge of child protection and LAC. You won't be required to supervise staff but you will be working closely with a current complex abuse case.

You should hold a recognised Social Work Qualification, be HCPC registered and have access to your own transport.
