Senior Practitioner

Experienced social workers must have a strong background of

* Managing complex cases involving children at risk and on the CP register;
* Court work;
* Core assessments;
* Completing reports;
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
* Carry out assessments of children in need, including those children in need of protection.
* Co-ordinate service provision to meet the needs of such children
* Undertake complex Initial assessments within the required timescale
* Undertake Section 47 investigations.
* Analyse information collated to identify the individual needs of children and young people and produce an initial care plan.
* Carry out direct work with children and their families in order to meet their assessed needs in a multi agency setting
* Responsible for engaging parents and children in meaningful and open working relationships, to encourage their full participation in order to create effective partnership arrangements
* Prepare and present information (both written and oral) to the Court and to supervise children on behalf of the Authority, as directed by the court.
* Carry out reviews and statutory visits in accordance with Statutory and Service procedures.
* Observe all statutory regulations.
