Senior Performance Engineer

Senior Performance Engineer - Contract - Cambridgeshire - 12 Months

I am currently looking for a senior performance engineer for my prestigious automotive client based in Cambridgeshire.

My client, a global presence within the automotive industry is a specialist in design, development and production of engines. They are looking to add to their industrial power systems division, and the successful candidate will be a key member of the already large team, being responsible for delivering more power, lower fuel consumption and excellent transient performance.

Reporting to the project supervisor, the successful candidate will be developing core rating calibrations to meet emissions defined by legislations and working with teams from across the company.

The successful candidate will have the following essential skills:
*Experience with engine calibration
*Relevant engineering degree
*Knowledge of engines
*Experience of working with diesel engine electronic fuel system control
*Experience of engine performance modelling
*Understanding of diesel combustion fundamentals, air systems, fuel systems, control systems and after treatment

Day to day duties:
*Developing electronic engine calibration maps
*Working with engine control software
*Root cause analysis
*Developments of solutions and implementations
*Work with after treatment teams.
