SENIOR OPERATIONAL RISK OFFICER required for our client, a UK subsidiary of a large, international financial services organisation, based in the City.

Key skills:

- Wide-ranging operational risk experience in the financial services environment.
- Good understanding of current and anticipated UK, European, Indian and other countries' expectations of risk management systems, procedures and processes.
- Broad product knowledge for retail products and an appreciation of operational risk fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. He/she is likely to be a graduate and have a professional qualification.
- High integrity, credibility and excellent verbal and written communication skills to operate confidently and effectively at senior levels both internally and externally.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Role will include:

OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING:

- Facilitate Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) workshops for all business groups, to identify residual operational risks and arrive at Key risks in the banks processes;
- Facilitate periodic walkthroughs to review the robustness and effectiveness of all key controls identified through RCSA workshops;
- Review Internal Audit findings to ascertain effectiveness of key controls;
- Facilitate developing Key Risk Indicators (KRI) for all key risks in the business and creation and reporting of KRI dashboards including escalation triggers, to relevant Committees;
- Track resolution/mitigation of risks and report to the relevant stakeholders as necessary;
- Facilitating development and implementation of various policies/procedures/frameworks pertaining to operational risks within the Bank;
- Advise and facilitate various groups in development, implementation and maintenance of operational risk management processes/tools within their respective areas;
- Facilitate progressive implementation of various modules of an operational risk management system.

OPERATIONAL RISK MEASUREMENT:

- Consolidation, mapping, analysing and reporting of the empirical internal loss data as reported by all business groups to the relevant stakeholders on a regular basis as per the annual ORMG Plan.

OPERATIONAL RISK REPORTING:

- Providing quality reports pertaining to operational risk (as per the annual ORMG Plan) to the relevant stakeholders including but not limited to Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC) on a regular basis.

OUTSOURCING:

- Assist in review and enhancements to outsourcing policy. Assist in compliance and Oversight on Business/Operations complying with pre-empanelment and post empanelment requirements pertaining to outsourced arrangement;
- Report the status of the outsourcing engagement reviews to the relevant stakeholders as per the annual ORMG Plan.

NEW PRODUCT AND PROCESS APPROVAL (PAC):

- Review all PAC notes pertaining to new products/processes with a view to ascertain all risk issues are identified and mitigated/controlled;
- Maintain a list of PAC notes and provide status update to the relevant stakeholder on a regular basis.
