Senior Network Engineer

You are a seasoned SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER and with a passion for network administration and architecting. You are comfortable with multitasking, managing a variety of tasks while handling interruptions/walk ups. You are energetic, you are well-spoken. You take pride in all aspects of the work you perform and take ownership of the network you manage. You are often are seen as the 'go to person' and enjoy collaborating with all teams. You are excited to manage all aspects of a large scale network ranging from corporate, test and production LANS to various hardware types including Firewalls, switching and Routers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintenance and improvement of network SLA's and uptimes for all environments, E-commerce and corporate and ensuring all devices are monitored
- 24x7 on-call network and telecom support of all client devices and engagement with vendor support where needed
- Network performance and fault diagnosis/troubleshooting all network devices (Routers, Firewalls, Switches, circuits, protocols) and successful resolution of all network issues
- Scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance, high availability testing and IOS updates on all network equipment
- Design of logical and physical network elements meeting business and technical requirements adhering to industry best practices, policies set by Information Security, PCI and SOX regulations
- Proof of concepts, evaluation and recommendation of vendor solutions for appropriate hardware and software products
- Participation with team peer approval process for network changes and ensuring all change management processes are followed and signed off from change committee
- Collaboration with other members of the IT Department to ensure that network issues and project milestones are met in a timely manner
- Circuit turn ups/decommission and inventory management of networking devices and updates to all Visio diagrams and documentation
- Driving efforts to reduce cost related to networking support and TCO
- Building and maintenance of network monitoring systems, threshold settings and alerting placing all findings in a team run-book

REQUIRED

- 7-10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A NETWORK ENGINEER
- 5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH CISCO IOS
- 5+ YEARS OF CISCO PIX/ASA FIREWALL EXPERIENCE
- FIREWALL AND TROUBLESHOOTING EXPERIENCE
- CURRENT CERTIFICATION IN SECURITY, ROUTING AND/OR SWITCHING (SECURITY PREFERRED, INACTIVE CERTIFICATE CONSIDERED)
- ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY BUT ALSO AS A TEAM, EXTRAVERT AND COLLABORATIVE

7+ years in the following areas:

- Expertise in Cisco based Firewall administration - ASA, PIX (6.3 and up), FWSM 4.1, ASDM 6.22
- Expertise in OSPF and BGP routing protocols
- Expertise in Cisco IOS, for all Routers and Switches - C6500, 7200VXR, ASR1001, C3750

5+ years in the following areas:

- Experience in Unix operating systems - Shell Scripting and server administration
- Network design - Architecture and best practices
- Network monitoring and monitoring applications - Solawinds, Cricket, MRTG, Zenoss, ProactiveNet

Additional Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux
- CCIE (active preferred) routing and switching, Security a plus
- Circuit topologies with regard to Internet, dedicated, and MPLS circuits
- Superior understanding of the TCP/IP stack (unicast and multicast packets)
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills with regards to Firewall and Routing
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
- Setup and maintain VPN configurations and GRE tunnels
- Experience with 10 Gig technologies
- Microsoft Office suite - VISIO, Excel, Project
- E-commerce environment experience preferred
- Experience as a UNIX administrator and/or network administrator a plus
