Senior MS BI/OLAP Developer - West London

SENIOR MS BI/OLAP DEVELOPER - WEST LONDON

I am looking for an exceptional MSAS Senior BI/OLAP Developer to be responsible for delivering high quality reporting and analysis solutions against a fast-moving set of stakeholder requirements/analysis services expert. Looking to employ an extensive analytics infrastructure, including near-Real Time operational data stores, traditional warehousing systems, and a Microsoft OLAP platform that enables the business to access a rich variety of information. The successful candidate will have exceptional technical and problem solving skills with a positive results-driven attitude, and will have the opportunity to work together with the wider EDS (Enterprise Data Services) to deliver transformation solutions generating real business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Architect, design and development of OLAP analytics stack, focusing on the MSAS cubes, to bring into line with client reference architecture.
- Work with EDS Analysis & Design team produce day 1 reporting and analysis solutions for new or amended products.
- Identify areas to step-change performance, and deliver clearly identifiable improvements
- Ensure stakeholders are well informed of what is being delivered and when
- Maintain high quality delivery service of business critical applications
- Challenge what we deliver, ensuring solutions are kept fresh as the business evolves, and any redundant processes solutions not giving sufficient business benefit are removed
- Production of quality estimates and deliver plans
- Provide technical knowledge and support to other EDS members where required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Dimensional Modeling, Kimball and Inmon methodologies, star schema design
- SQL Server 2008/2012 BI stack: experience of clustered, multi-core, 64-bit environment with SAN storage
- Very strong MS Analysis Services experience: Multiple measure groups, conformed dimensions, multi-grain, multi-source stars and cubes, many-to-many facts, complex attribute lattice experience, complex MDX code, xmla, superpositional security models with Active Directory, Tabular Models, Powerpivot
- Integration services 2008: ETL, cube processing, reconciliation, logging, error handling, AMO Scripting
- Cube reconciliation and unit testing
- ProClarity Analytics Server, Excel OLAP connectivity: pivot reports, cube functions
- Performance tuning: identify bottlenecks in process and query performance from the storage level to the logical dataspace
- Experience with highly transactional and Real Time architectures
- Strong experience in all aspects of software life cycle and agile development techniques
- Demonstrable experience in delivering creative and engaging solutions for delivery of data and information
- Aptitude and experience in adoption of new technologies and practices
- Solid understanding of Agile development principles
- Good organisational skills and can demonstrate clear prioritisation and progress against workload
