Senior Mechanical Engineer Job

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER needed for a two month CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Indianapolis, IN.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Baccalaureate college degree and five (5) years of relevant experience, or Masters degree and three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with instrumentation design and integration including mechanical and electrical systems, fluid handling, thermal systems, pneumatic components, molding, and materials specification
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot, develop or improve mechanical and electromechanical systems using analytical and statistical methods
- Self starter with a demonstrated ability to focus efforts, overcome obstacles and complete key objectives - Continuous learner that seeks out challenges to improve skills - Innovative out of the box thinker that gets things done - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Establish mechanical engineering specifications. Identify critical design factors and risks that impact customer needs and regulatory requirements.
- Support reliability investigations and mechanical design improvements utilizing Six Sigma based methodologies
- Create and maintain detailed component level drawings that include material specifications, material coatings, tolerancing and GD&T.
- Develop project schedules, track and communicate project status, - Perform both empirical and theoretical analysis, interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions - Fabricate breadboards and prototypes -
- Develop test plans and test specifications
- Participate on and/or lead cross-functional teams, working with other groups to resolve issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS degree and five (5) years of relevant experience, or Masters degree and three (3) years of relevant experience
- Experience with instrumentation design and integration including mechanical and electrical systems, fluid handling, thermal systems, pneumatic components, molding, and materials specification
- Experience in mechanical and process design using CAD/CAE tools (Pro/Engineer and SolidWorks preferred).
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot, develop or improve mechanical and electromechanical systems using analytical and statistical methods.
- Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Self starter with a demonstrated ability to focus efforts, overcome obstacles and complete key objectives.
