SENIOR LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SANTA CLARA, CA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

Senior Linux Systems Administrator role will be performing general Linux and networking administration tasks. The candidate should be comfortable building out new Servers, updating monitoring and puppet configuration, changing Firewall and load balancer settings. Write scripts to automate tasks, troubleshoot any issues that come up, and document configurations and processes. Should be comfortable working independently on a small team and handling a wide variety of tasks without much guidance, will have senior level team members to consult with when required.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Ubuntu server experience strongly preferred
- Virtualization including VMware, Amazon AWS, or other relevant technologies
- Experience with configuring Firewalls and load balancers
- Strong experience with networking concepts
- Automation including Scripting and deployment automation with kickstart and puppet/chef/etc.
- Monitoring with nagios/ganglia/cacti (including building/editing configs)
- Familiarity with MySQL
- Misc admin skills such as DNS, NFS, Apache, ldap
- Ability to work on 24/7 on-call rotation
- At least 5 years of direct experience
