Senior Legal Assistant Corporate Law and Governance

Senior Legal Assistant Corporate Law and Governance needed to work with our Government client on an interim assignment. The Senior Legal Assistant Corporate Law and Governance will need experience of employment law and litigation, advising on replies to FOIA requests and data protection issues, procurement and contracts and be DPA and FOIA trained.

This is a challenging and fulfilling role that will require the job holder to be self-starting, very well organised, confident and energetic. They will own a number of high-profile matters. They will provide timely and effective legal advice to the senior managers and officers across the clients departments as part of a team of lawyers responsible for Employment, Governance, Information Law, Litigation, Contracts and Procurement. Advise on risk with regard managing public money and the standards of public life.
Representing the client at meetings with officers, stakeholders, Counsel, and attendance at tribunal and Court in an advisory capacity.

Senior Legal Assistant Corporate Law and Governance

Specific Tasks Include:
*Respond to overnight emails and messages
*Check Corporate Legal Group inbox (governance matters, litigation and conflict of interest)
*Emails relating to reviewing Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection Act (DPA) requests where exemptions are engaged or the request relates to sensitive issues or members of staff- amend and review, redact where necessary
*Respond to reactive employment matters
*Contract review for signature (extensions, secondments, loans, variations, interims)
*Work on projects eg income generation (governance), assisting with bundles/witness statements (litigation), review of employment policies (employment), complex information requests (FOI/DPA/Information Commissioner/Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Parliamentary Questions (PQs), recognition agreement, review of terms and conditions for contracts and tenders
*Recognition agreement Collective agreements

*Misrepresentation of consultation with the client
*Business as usual (BAU) FOI/DPA/complaints and reviews
