The Senior Software Engineer will be a member of the Security team which is working on enhancing the security standards of one of the world's leading financial services. This highly visible and mission critical position will require design and implementation of solutions that will enable the client to meet and exceed industry standards in on its Transaction platform to deliver highly scalable and secure applications. Responsibilities will also include gathering and clarifying requirements, facilitating communication with other groups within the company, and implementing solutions.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will need to communicate new/changing needs on security clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. The position requires strong analytical skills, understanding the infrastructural and security needs.

JOB SCOPE

- Gather and analyze requirements from the product owner
- Design and develop solutions that cater to platform enhancements in the areas of infrastructure and security
- Use security tools to understand the security needs, and validate the solutions using the same tools
- Understand and adhere to architectural best practices
- Provide clear documentation and work with all stakeholders to socialize the solutions being built
- Demonstrate the software for various technical and non-technical users across the company
- Use TDD style development
- Collaborate with QA on test scenarios and test cases
- Follow Acceptance TDD to perform testing earlier in the life cycle

QUALIFICATIONS

- MS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university
- 6+ years experience designing and developing complex Java and J2EE applications
- Must have end-to-end Java development and multithreaded Java development experience including fault-tolerant, scalable, high-volume systems
- Every team is using different frameworks (Struts, Groovy, Rails) so must have experience on more than one framework and must be able to work in many frameworks
- Web Services CXF a must
- Good understanding of Security standards
- Exposure to Server Side and UI technologies
- Experienced in analysing and debugging the reported issues using various kinds of mechanisms like debugger, SQL profiler, textual log files and event logs, across various supported environments
- Experience with application Servers
- Experience with messaging systems such as MQ
- Extensive XML parsing and XML schema design experience
- Solid JDBC experience
- Strong UNIX background
- Knowledge of UI frameworks like Struts
- Experience in and understanding of the product development life cycle with focus on secure SDLC
- Must be a self-starter and highly organized
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to understand large systems, get relevant understanding to implement the solution rapidly and move on
- Must be able to break large tasks into smaller parts for implementation
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Experience in relational database design, optimization and performance with commercial-grade databases such as Sybase, Oracle, or MySQL
- Experience with Agile methodologies/SCRUM
- Nice to have skills: Security Scanning tools (Apps Scan, Vera Code, etc.)
