Senior Java - Software Development Expert

This is a 6 months contract starting as soon as possible!

The main responsibilities includes:

- Develop system architecture and component designs to meet product needs
- Develop high quality software applications which adhere to approved design
- Mentor team members, providing guidance during design and development to ensure software principles

In order to be considered you must have excellent working knowledge of:

- Java architecture and development skills
- Both academic and practical understanding of Java architectures, design patterns and the complete application development life cycle
- Development experience in a high performance environment
- Software development in a Windows/Unix/Linux environment
- HTML, xHTML, WML
- Experience in TCP/IP, XML, HTTP
- Excellent OOA and OOD skills

Nice to Have Skills:

- Experience developing software systems for the mobile communications industry
- database technologies knowledge, including JDBC, SQL, and RDBMS
- Knowledge of Coherence, Cassandra, NoSQl Databases, Hadoop and Big Data technologies
- Knowledge of profilers (Purify, JProfiler)
- Knowledge of Cocoon
- Refactoring and Re-engineering of large systems
- Experience working in an agile software development environment
- Strong knowledge of hardware and networks.
- Experience of developing international standards.

Behavioural Competency:
