Senior Java Developer - FX

An excellent contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented Senior Java Developer with strong Java/Spring/Hibernate & Design skills to join one of Australia's leading financial institutions.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working on the end to end design and development of new application components on the FX trading system you will need excellent design ability and corporate level communication skills

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 7+ Years experience in end-to-end Java application Development:
- Java/Spring/Hibernate
- Oracle/JAXB/XML
- Gemfire/IntelliJ/TeamCity
- Strong object-oriented design skills
- Foreign Exchange and/or banking/financial experience
- Low-latency, multi-threaded markets trading system development experience
- Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) preferred
- Agile/Scrum methodology exposure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- End-to-end design and development of new application components on FX trading system
- Debugging and maintaining existing software
- Ensuring code quality and test coverage standards are upheld
- Liasing with other team members and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes
- Providing expert advice where appropriate
- Sharing knowledge and maintaining documentation
