Senior IT Program Manager Job

SENIOR IT PROGRAM MANAGER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SUNNYVALE, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Manage strategic projects for Operations
- Work with Development & Product Management on upcoming release & feature planning to align Operations projects
- Represent Operations for coordination with Engineering program management
- Run a weekly Operations project meeting to go over all strategic projects
- Maintain Operations dashboard to track various organizational metrics for Operations in addition to project status
- Plan Operations budget
- Work with the security team for security audit and certification
- Create and maintain tools to track organizational metrics or enhance team productivity as needed
- Mentor and coach Operations engineers on project management
- Foster a work environment for team members to grow and keep morale high

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with managing software development or IT-related projects.
- Experience with managing a large-scale project that lasts many months
- Must be able to lead a cross functional team consisting of team members from various groups within Operations and groups outside Operations based on the need of a project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be dynamic to embrace and adopt/manage changes in projects, and be able to work in diverse environments
- Must be able to present a clear project status to upper management on a timely manner
- Experience with working with remote team members
- Experience with developing and strategic planning for hosting mission critical business applications.
- Experience with various systems development life cycle models such as waterfall or iterative development models.
- Web-based software development experience and proficiency in OOP, especially Java with JDBC
- Experience with MS Project
- Experience with managing/mentoring/coaching program managers or project managers.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux and SQL & RDBMS, especially Oracle
- Good understanding of various technologies used for hosting a large-scale web applications
- Experience with planning multi-million dollar budgets.
- Experience with capacity planning.
- Experience with change control management and process.
- Experience with planning and designing a Disaster Recovery process, and managing the disaster simulation testing
- Good understanding of data security standards.
- Experience with XML a plus
- Experience with managing development and QA teams a plus
- Experience with datacenter planning and expansions.
