Senior Hadoop Engineer Job

SENIOR HADOOP ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SUNNYVALE, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Senior level Hadoop Experience
- Senior level Oracle, or HANA experience
- HBase experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Manage Hadoop clusters in a 24x7 mission-critical production environment.
- Support technologies such as search which uses Hadoop as an integral component in the search index life cycle.
- Work on performance tuning and optimization of Hadoop clusters.
- Guide the operational best practices for Hadoop cluster configuration and job processing.
- Learn and adopt additional database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL and SAP/Hana.
- Plan and implement cluster upgrades and migrations.
- Be part of the design and implementation of Hadoop HA and DR solutions.
- Be a self motivated individual driving projects to successful completion with minimal supervision.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- At least seven (7) years of experience with the Hadoop eco system covering HDFS, HBase, YARN and MapReduce.
- At least seven (7_ years of experience with Hadoop clusters.
- At least seven (7) years of experience with Hadoop and HBase installation, troubleshooting and performance management.
- At least seven (7) years of experience with HA solutions for Hadoop, HBase and the underlying components.
- At least seven (7) years of experience with DR solutions in Active/Active cluster configurations.
- At least seven (7) years of experience troubleshooting MapReduce jobs.
- At least seven (7) years of experience configuring Linux systems and tuning Kernel parameters for Hadoop clusters.
- At least seven (7) years Shell Scripting experience in a Scripting language such as Perl, Python, Bash, etc.
