Pay Rate: Up to £300 per day

A pro-active self-starter who can quickly digest and analyse large quantities of data within the context of understanding operational subtleties/risks and drawing appropriate conclusions, presenting them to senior stakeholders and incorporating into a business plan.

The short-term goal is to help develop a robust 5 year delivery plan in conjunction with the pricing mechanism/model that will help support the delivery of volume at efficienct prices.

To support the Programme Manager in the provision of the programme's financial corporate analysis, benchmark and performance information, to provide guidance and direction for future strategy and business direction.

Support the development of complex plans and models that highlight opportunities for improvement in both financial and non-financial areas.

Creation of models that support the longer term business and delivery of the strategic business plan.

1. Build and develop the Programme's 5 year business deliverable plan for CP5.
2. Monitor and change control vs the SBP submission - identifying other delivery partners for completeness, for example.
3. Programme analysis to highlight areas of financial/process improvement in support of the business' objectives for the forthcoming control period.
4. Develop periodic reporting regimes to provide appropriate financial information in support of exec/ORR requirements.
5. Monitor and analyse operational and financial performance against objectives identifying risks and opportunities and other issues and corrective action required if necessary.
6. Provide high priority analytical support to senior directors and managers as required.

Essential
* Experience in developing complex business cases/investment appraisal
* Ability to work independently
* Strong analytical and modelling skills
* Advanced EXCEL skills
* Full membership of relevant professional body

Desirable
* Relevant post qualification experience within finance disciplines of Network Rail and/or external organisations
* Experience of working in a Matrix management organisation
* Maths, Economics or Statistics degree
