An experienced and skilled Senior Financial Accountant is required to join a leading national company to work onsite at their central Government client for an initial 4 month contract. As well as experience in a Senior Financial Accountant role, suitable candidates must either currently hold some level of security clearance (BPSS/Disclosure Scotland at least), or be able to achieve it.

The right Senior Financial Accountant will have experience working within a large financial team, preparing statutory accounts ensuring conformity to relevant standards. Experience preparing monthly reporting routines, and circulating monthly reports to business units will be highly beneficial, and experience assisting senior stakeholders and managers with quarterly forecasting would be advantageous. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential, and you will be confident supporting others using Excel on a daily basis.

The Senior Financial Accountant will be working within various departments of central government, so any experience or knowledge of government budgeting and estimating would be a plus although is not essential. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must either hold the basic level of security clearance, or be willing to undertake the necessary checks prior to starting the contract. Financial Accounting qualifications such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA would be very desirable, and strong communication skills are a must.

The contract is initially offered as a four month contract but may be extended. The role is based in central London, with daily rates available between £400-500 per day.
