Senior Finance Manager - Divestment

A large UK Banking Group is looking to bring a senior manager (Financial Reporting and Planning) onto a major divestment project on a 9 month contract basis.

Role Location: Gloucester
Role Duration: Initial 9 months w/ possibility of extension
Expected Start Date: 01/01/2013
Daily Rate of Pay: £400 - £500
Business Area: Divestment Mortgage Business

As an overview, you will be required to lead the team, which forecasts the Verde Business. Key accountabilities will include:

- Leading and Developing the Verde Financial Forecast Team
- Take responsibility for delivering the financial forecast
- Forge enduring business partnering relationships with Finance, Risk & Commercial Teams
- Assess how actual financial results will impact upon the bank's commitment to deliver the Verde project, and escalate variances where appropriate
- Maintain a robust control environment & audit trail of the forecast process
- Complete Statutory and CPE training requirements

You will also be accountable for:

- Overseeing the build and implementation of the Finance Function for Mortgages
- Engage with potential buyers, listing authorities, regulators
- Recruiting and training colleagues so that the finance function is able to function at full capacity following the divestment

As you might imagine, background and experience is very important. The following should be viewed as key for the role:

- Excellent P&L forecasting experience
- Excellent written and presentations skills
- Proven leadership, senior managemenr, team building and change management experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Relevant financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, FCCA // CFA etc)
- Experience within a commercial / retail banking environment
- (Finance) Business Partnering experience
