Senior Finance Manager

Hyphen have a fantastic opportunity to work for a large Insurance client in York as a Senior Finance Manager on a 3 month initial contract.

Duties:
- Lead the production of consolidated group data for all cycles ensuring a robust internal controls environment
- Lead and co-ordinate the process to ensure appropriate accounting entries are reflected for specific transactions
- Act as source of expertise and advise on reporting solutions to other Group Teams/Markets
- Lead the development of financial systems as a tool to deliver reporting requirements with appropriate governance to promote standardisation, simplification and automation where possible
- Sponsor and provide expertise to support the effective and efficient use of financial systems across the team
- Continually identify risks to delivery and where necessary propose solutions. Effectively manage Stakeholder expectations
- Support the Group's reporting process as required including leading on specific initiatives across the team
- Support the engagement and issue resolution with Auditors on consolidation accounting and systems matters
- Actively support and contribute to creating an appropriate team culture within Consolidation team and wider reporting including development of team members
- Operational management including coaching and mentoring of more junior team members
- Contribute to resource planning and management of offshore team working collaboratively with Reporting Production team
- Support HoF in oversight and review of key processes/controls within Consolidation Team and ensure controls are adequately documented
- Review of key outputs prior to HoF/DoF review
- Deputise for Head of Consolidation as appropriate
- Build relationships and networks with a wide range of colleagues - work collaboratively with reporting team members, wider finance team and those outside finance

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Strong consolidation accounting and systems (Magnitude/Business Objects/Disclosure Management) technical knowledge
- Strong project/process management (design, implement and improve)
- Strong attention to detail/Controls focus
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Sound business/market knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong team working skills
