Senior Expert - Packaging Engineering (m/f/d)

MY DUTIES:

- Execute primary packaging development activities for vials, cartridges or pre-fillable sterile syringes and closure systems with the project team members for assigned projects
- Maintain knowledge in the areas of materials (glass, polymers, rubbers, silicone/ lubricants, sterile barrier systems, adhesives, needles). Manufacturing (injection molding, glass converting, rubber molding, plasma coating, assembly, fill & finish, transport validation)
- Develop packaging concepts to support early phase drug development
- Conduct feasibility assessments on new technology/ packaging concepts
- Develop early and late phase packaging prototypes using rapid prototyping, machined and/or soft tooling
- Conduct design for manufacture assessments and conduct tolerance stack analyses
- Develop Design Input Requirements for primary packaging
- Maintain primary packaging documentation during lifecycle of combination products
- Contribute to change evaluations and risk analyses and
- Support primary packaging change process

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum: BS/MS or equivalent, desirable: Advanced degree in a scientific or relevant discipline (Ph.D. or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of English (oral and written). Desirable knowledge of site language (German).
- Successfully demonstrated directly related experience as principal scientist or equivalent for parenteral primary packaging or device development.
- Recognized expertise in a specific area.
- Thorough knowledge of state-of-art technology/ equipment/ regulation as appropriate for the role.
- Thorough understanding of packaging and medical devices development processes.
- Ability to work in and/or lead interdisciplinary and/or cross-cultural teams by advanced coaching skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills + strong scientific and technical writing skills.
