Senior Equipment Buyer Job

SENIOR EQUIPMENT BUYER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in NEWPORT, DE.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Request quotes on material and equipment from approved manufacturer and mill sources, analyze quotes received and make recommendations for award based on total cost of ownership.
- Manages Requests for Proposals (RFP s) and ensures the fulfillment of contractual obligations
- Issue Purchase Orders and track Vendor progress.
- Expedite deliveries of major equipment purchases.
- Act as Purchaser for capital projects which may involve directing efforts of multiple suppliers, determining buying strategies and approving bid lists.
- Act as purchaser for various commodities and components such heat ex-changers, tanks, pressure vessels, pipe, valves, etc. by tracking market pricing trends, negotiating pricing agreements, and conducting periodic meetings between Company and Vendor.
- Assist project teams with meeting objectives of cost control, quality, and schedule without direction.
- Participate in Engineering/Operations project meetings working as a member of the project team.
- Makes recommendations and participates in the design and/or development of improved systems for procurement processes and vendor management
- Input and maintain necessary data in company systems.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- High school diploma
- Relevant experience in heavy industrial equipment and commodities sourcing
- Previous experience negotiating contracts
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years experience in Purchasing, Material Management, Operations or Engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheets and information retrieval

- College Degree in related field of study is preferred
- Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager (PSCM), preferred
