JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

SALARY/RATE: $60-70/HOUR

LOCATION: HOUSTON, TX

We have an immediate need a Senior Enterprise Architect for a one year contract in Houston. The duration of this contract could be extended.

POSITION: SENIOR ENTERPRISE  ARCHITECT

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create the future state business/technology architecture through business alignment and IT strategies.
- Design and implementation of the enterprise data architecture and reporting capability at a global level.
- Develop long-term data management processes including data governance, data life cycle management, technical standards, tool selection and integration processes
- Build and maintain a global data dictionary containing common business definition for each field and clarifying technical versus business terminology
- Work with the technology management, enterprise architects and other teams to develop road map for the orderly transition to future state
- Design and create enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, Business Intelligence (BI), data integration, and related information management to improve business performance
- Facilitate the development of a corporate data policy that outlines the appropriate data stewardship and data audit requirements, as well as the service-level agreements, to support the appropriate quality and use of information in business and IT processes
- Drive technical vision throughout program development, direction and ultimately successful implementation
- Responsible for conception of solutions, building consensus and the selling of such solutions to senior level leadership
- Drive the creation of new standards and best practices as technology evolves; communicate and drive adoption across the technical community
- Assess new technology to determine its viability and applicability within Target's technical environment 

REQUIRED SKILLS

- 10+ years of experience with various information systems disciplines
- 5+ years of experience in architecture, design and development of technology solutions involving multiple technologies
- Experience with core technologies, including open standards, database, and integration technologies
- Ability to contribute functionally and technically to the Data management and Business Intelligence Strategy 
- Data modelling techniques for large data stores (Relational and Multi-Dimensional); Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin
- Strong working experience with business and IT personnel on data-related issues
- Experience in designing and implementing enterprise data warehouses and large-scale business reporting
- Well versed with Inmon/Kimball methodologies among other DW principles.
- Experience with overcoming data quality challenges; Experience in working with ETL tools
- Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and work effectively throughout all levels of the organization
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making skills
- Excellent customer relationship management skills
- Ability to translate technology features and functionality into business value and clearly articulate that value to IT and business leaders
- Solid knowledge of current technologies, emerging trends, and architectural principles
- Experience practicing an architecture framework such as The Open Group Architecture (TOGAF) or Zachmann Framework
- Knowledge of Industry trends, evolving technologies, and best practices; MDM, BI, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques; Data-modelling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level
- Ability to mentor and coach business users, staff, and teams in information architecture
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with executives, business users, internal technical teams, vendors and individuals
- Hands-on experience in data modelling, including both relational and dimensional modelling
- Experience with industry standard Business Intelligence tools
- Bachelor's Degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience
