JOB TITLE: Senior Engineer - Steering Systems (Design)

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Steering Systems has arisen with my client an, a prestigious and successful Automotive manufacturer. Senior Engineer - Steering Systems will assist with design, release, and document compilation for steering systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist facilitate design, release and sign off of Steering systems which includes steering gear, pipe, hoses, cooler, pumps, ECU, reservoir and brackets.

- Control design activities for CAD Designers
- Generate and update minutes for relevant meetings.
- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine bets practices/Designs and future trends.
- Work with Suppliers to design and develop components & systems to meet all specified requirements such as weight, cost, durability, and performance targets.
- Analyse the suitability of "parts bin" Components.
- Help manage suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time to the required quality standard.
- Work closely with manufacturing and launch to enable swift and accurate fitment of components to vehicles.
- Aid with the design verification and sign off reporting.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- BEng in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Good design knowledge of Steering systems and their functions
- Component engineering experience.
- Rig Test environment experience.
- Some experience of NX/CAD systems would be useful but not essential.
