Senior Engineer Infrastructure

Our hugely popular client is looking for an exceptional individual with a successful, progressive career history in the area of structured cabling as a Senior Engineer for our Cabling Infrastructure Team. The Cabling Infrastructure team is responsible for low voltage structured cabling across the client's data center platform.

The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables him/her to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of data centers. To be a qualified candidate for this role you must have experience operating in large-scale data centers and a display a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically, as this is needed to align the future of structured cabling with the larger objectives of the business.

This is a role for an experienced professional as it will be challenging and demanding. You will be responsible for design, materials, vendor selection, quality and standards. You will be expected to travel where and when needed for projects and to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers as advocate for the company around the world.

You must be passionate about the Customer Experience, think and act globally and want to contribute to innovations in the area of structured cabling.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Serve as authoritative quality assurance mechanism for the team
- Ensure adherence to budget and timelines
- Adhere to higher standards but developing standards and holding teams to higher standards
- Create RFP's and review all submittals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of 5-8 years of structured cabling experience
- Minimum of 3 years structured cabling project management
- Minimum of 3 years in the field management of cabling vendors/contractors
- Total comprehension of modern systems and network platform and what is necessary for physical layer inter-connectivity
- Total familiarity with enterprise data centers/white space.
- General comprehension of the various components and sub-components of data center infrastructure
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio proficiency
- Strong customer focus
- Exhibit excellent judgment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Project management, organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Should be skilled at written and verbal communication
- Must be able to operate with minimal supervision
- Understanding of Copper and Fiber Cable Plant design
- Understanding of Network Hardware and cabling standards
