SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

On behalf of our client, one of the WORLD'S BIGGEST MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANIES, located in Baselland we are looking for a SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
This is a CONTRACTING position STARTING ASAP UNTIL THE 21ST OF DECEMBER 2018.
You will be responsible for the design and development of improvements/modifications of existing electromechanical medical devices as well as of new ones.
YOUR TASKS:
- Designing, developing and improving electromechanical medical devices to the product development process
- Performing the required activities and generating the appropriate PD documents to ensure compliance with national and international regulations related to medical devices (in particular EU MDD/MDR, US FDA, Japanese PAL)
- Working with manufacturing during the design stages to incorporate manufacturability into the product designs and during the implementation phase
- Working with internal shared services and external suppliers to achieve agreed project milestones
- Being the primary contact person for technical questions/issues of existing products
- Being in close collaboration with the technical engineering office, generating product models, concept layouts, and prints using a CAD software
- Being responsible for the performance of the product
- Developing test set-ups (including derivation of benchmarks) together with the test team and coordinating the activities required to fabricate test parts and - complete testing (according to PD process)
- Knowing and following all laws and policies that apply to the job, and to maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all time.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- MASTER's degree mechanical or electrical engineering
- 5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in the design and development of medical devices
- BUSINESS FLUENT IN GERMAN AND ENGLISH
