Contract Term

This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19th, 2012.

This is a 6 month contract opportunity (through to June 30, 2013), with the potential to mutually extend for an additional year.

The successful Resource shall be required to provide the Services on a Full time basis. The successful Resource shall also be required to provide the Services on-site in Edmonton, Alberta for not less than 50% of the Contract term. Overview

Our Client is seeking a Senior Developer. The selected resource will be expected to collaborate with resources from other external service providers, consultants and client personnel on the Performance & Attribution Systems, which will include project managers, developers, business analysts, quality assurance testers and subject matter experts.Role and Responsibilities

The Project objective is to develop and deliver a converted performance analytics and reporting system based on Opturo and Sylvan as performance calculation engines, with Eagle PACE (Eagle Investment Systems LLC) as the data hub.

As a result, our Client requires a senior developer to provide development services to support the process of putting the performance systems into production. These include ensuring such milestones as data flowing between systems, security masters are mapped, and historical returns are linked, are met.

The senior developer will also be required to provide technical support for post-conversion of the implemented systems.

Services to be provided by the Senior Developer include but are not limited to any or all of the following: - Coordinate the joint developments of the Client's performance system among the Eagle Investment Systems LLC, TIBCO, SimCorp, SS
- Design and develop a scalable performance database (Performance Data Mart);
- Automate data audit processes and reports;
- Conduct a gap analysis between the original requirements documentations and actual or new requirements of the performance team, and refine items for conversion and cut-over;
- Develop tables and scripts for portfolio look-though. Look-through is the process of calculating performance figures based on the underlying securities that are represented by a single security instrument. The tables and script for look-through are to be consistent and shared by other teams in the organization that would use this for exposure purposes;
- Develop Aggregate, Equity, and Fixed Income performance attributions;
- Define and configure Opturo and Sylvan applications for the acceptance and delivery of fit-for-purpose data with Eagle PACE;
- Develop stored procedures (SQL) in Eagle PACE to support performance report development in packaged and customized reporting applications;
- Communicate and/or resolve issues effectively; and
- Train Client personnel on Eagle PACE, Sylvan and Opturo reporting.

Deliverables to be provided by a Senior Developer include but are not limited to the following:

- Performance Data Mart;
- Performance
- Opturo data-flow configurations;
- Sylvan data-flow configurations;
- Automated Data Integrity
- Automated Performance reports;
- SQL procedures documentation;
- Issues reporting documentation; and
- Systems design documentation for the performance component of Eagle PACE.

Qualifications

Required Skills - Demonstrated experience with designing and developing custom performance systems (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience on resolving data accuracy and data-flow issues gained from working in the financial industry (5 years).

Desired Skills

- Completion of post-graduate computer science and/or business related degree (eg Master's and/or MBA).
- Enrolment or completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
- Demonstrated experience in SQL database table design. (5 years)
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing automated processes relating to data transfer and storage in the financial industry. (5 years)
- Demonstrated experience in a role from which knowledge of data requirements for the investment portfolio construction was gained. (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience in a role from which knowledge of data requirements for the investment portfolio construction was gained. (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience in a role in which the ability to assess complex issues and quickly develop optimal solutions was utilized. (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience in a role which effective communication skills (verbal and written) were utilized. (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience in projects where the ability to work on an individual basis and in cross-functional teams were required. (3 years)
- Demonstrated experience with reporting software or tools. (2 years)
- Demonstrated experience in supporting and resolving performance & attribution related data issues. (3 years)
- Demonstrated systems analyst experience of Opturo and/or Sylvan. (1 year)
- Demonstrated experience with developing data marts in Eagle PACE for performance systems. (1 year)
- Demonstrated experience with web-based performance & attribution reporting platform. (1 year)
