Your Opportunity
This role will possess a deep understanding of all of the applications and services provided on the standard Informatica PC and Mobile Devices.

You will have the opportunity to provide solutions that meet our Business and IT needs. Recent activities have included rolling out new mobility solution, two factor authentication solution and Exchange/Outlook 2010.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Client Services and based in Redwood City, CA, the successful candidate will be a key member of a lean and high-impact IT organization of 100 people who are aligned in several geographically dispersed centers in over 25 countries that support an employee base of over 2, 400 people.

You understand the big picture and can clearly articulate how your role helps the IT organization achieve our goals. You will serve as an evangelist for IT solutions. You are also detail-oriented and you do not take shortcuts in any of the work that you perform. The Sr. Desk side Engineer will have a positive, "can do" attitude, have great communication skills and business acumen, and be ready to jump in and make things happen. You will possess excellent project management skills. You will be able to influence peers and customers without authority.

You will also be viewed as a technical leader and resource for the global desk side team. You will be able to lead training sessions, and address questions in one on one and team meetings. You will be responsible for developing the Desktop/PC computing strategy for Informatica.

Your Responsibilities
As the Sr. Deskside Engineer, Altiris and member of the IT Client Services team, you will:

- Ensure customer expectations are set and consistently met or exceeded.
- Assist in delivering projects to expectations (budget, resources and schedule).
- Act as the Altiris applications and system administrator on key IT Operations projects. Help deploy applications and updates using Altiris. (Altiris 7.1).
- Use PC management solution, Altiris to ensure desk side compliance to corporate standards.
- Perform code migrations and upgrades throughout Altiris application environment.
- Be involved in all aspects of investigating and deploying new Altiris solution suites and related products and enhancements.
- Analyze and satisfy user report requests and requirements.
- Manage methods and results to IT. mission, vision and values.
- Help evaluate Altiris process and business requirements and help set strategy and drive process improvements.
- Manage Vendor relationships with key solution providers such as Symantec, Microsoft and Lenovo.
- Manage and evolve Altiris operational processes that ensure maximum availability and usability of Altiris solutions.
- Manage escalations and ensure end user issues are appropriately resolved. Provide after-hours support as required.
- Perform lead duties as required for the Desk side Engineering Team.
- Develop technical Altiris documentation and run books to be used across IT operations.
- Maintain the Altiris knowledge base for OLA, SLA's, Operation's policies, procedures, process maps, desk procedures, templates and job aids.
- Help ensure Operating Level Agreements (OLA) and Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are up to date, reviewed, and agreed to with IT customers.
- Ensure prompt identification and resolution of problems with Desktop solutions.
- Core activities will include testing and developing Desktop solutions.
- Create deployment strategies for Desktop solutions
- Provide Tier Three Remote support to North American Employees as required
