Senior Design Engineer £40,000

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to lead a team in the development of complex products for a client based in Cardiff. The role requires extensive analogues & digital hardware development & debugs experience.

As Hardware Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, conducting and coordinating hardware development activities with your team, including key design decisions for the technology, structure, configuration & QA testing of the systems under development.

Desired Skills & Experience

* At least 10+ years experience in managing a Hardware Development Team.
* Demonstrated ability to identify problems & to provide solutions with minimal direction
* Understanding & of the development, manufacturing & test processes for complex multi-layer PCB assemblies.

* A strong technologist unafraid to 'get your hands dirty' who can also lead his/her team.
* An entrepreneurial spirit with strong product and program management skills.
* Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to get things done.
* Interpret market and product requirements into design requirements. Act as a system architect where appropriate, providing overall design strategy & guidance to the team.
* Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
* Develop and enforce hardware development standards
* Develop and document hardware architecture and interfaces. Development & execution of comprehensive test plans for design validation

Education and Experience

* BSc/MSc in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
