Senior DBA, 3-year contract, Basel

For our international banking client, Swisslinx are looking for an Senior DBA for a challenging new long-term to permanent contract in Basel.

In this new role, you will work as a member of the database administration team. You will be responsible primarily for the design, implementation and maintenance of the database infrastructure including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (2005-2012 on Windows Server 2008) and Sybase IQ.

Your tasks will involve:

Providing specialist advice on database related issues
Leading changes related to new releases or design changes
Managing IT projects related to the database infrastructure
Being ready to work outside normal hours during service windows and providing on-call cover for evenings and weekends

In order to be considered for this position, you will possess the following skills and experience:

Degree in Computer Science
Proven knowledge and experience of Oracle 10g and 11g (OCP and OCE certifications are a plus)
Proven knowledge and experience of MS SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012 (MCP certification is a plus)
Experience with Sybase IQ 15.x is a plus
Solid experience of Perl, Linux Shell (bash), T-SQL and PL/SQL, knowledge Powershell and VBA Scripting is a plus
Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments, as well as applications
Fluent in English (both oral and written)
Knowledge of either German or French is desirable
