Responsible for the day-to-day administration of creating, designing, and developing logical and physical database tables to ensure data is protected according to departmental policies and procedures, including troubleshooting and resolving problems as they arise.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

DATABASE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS - Create, design, develop and implement logical and physical database schemas and tables in a timely manner adhering to established departmental procedures.

STAFF ASSISTANCE - Lead and participate in database administration functions to include acting as primary contact for database services.

PROJECT COORDINATION - Coordinate and participate in activities associated with assigned projects, following the project from beginning to end, ensuring the project continually supports the attainment of corporate goals and is completed in a timely, accurate, and quality manner, striving to meet and exceed client expectations.

DATA SUPPORT - Ensure data is protected according to departmental policies and procedures and is retrievable in a timely manner, auditing back up rotation to ensure adherence to established standards.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION - Proactively oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of problems related to area of responsibility.

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field related is required
- Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum two years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS to include database administration required
- Minimum one year lead or project management experience required

TECHNICAL

- Windows platform is required and experienced MS SQL Server fundamentals
- Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of SQL Server 2008 Administration, performance optimizations and tuning, ETL (SSIS), SSRS and Oracle database systems is preferred
