We have an opening for a Senior Cognos Visualisation Specialist working within Group Risk Management. We are looking for a developer to play a key role in the development and implementation of our reporting strategy using the Cognos BI toolset.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working alongside our Lead Data Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Maintenance and improvements to our current operational and strategic reports.
- Working with customers to identify new and more efficient reporting solutions. This will include translating business requirements into deliverables and identifying new techniques to present data.
- Designing and developing high quality strategic dashboards using active reports and mobile delivery methods.
- Manage tasks in a fast paced environment to ensure they are completed on time with attention to delivering high quality results.
- Understand customer requirements and effectively manage expectations.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN COGNOS 8 OR 10 REPORT STUDIO DESIGNING REPORTS WITH, RELATIONAL AND DIMENSIONAL FUNCTIONS, unions, joins, drill-through, conditional formatting, experience authoring active reports and bursting techniques.
- 3+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE WITH FRAMEWORK MANAGER, COGNOS WORKSPACE, COGNOS WORKSPACE ADVANCED, EVENT STUDIO, TRANSFORMER.
- Experience designing interactive, customer appealing active report dashboards using RAVE visualizations.
- Strong database knowledge and some experience of ETL tools.
- Ability to read and write SQL is required.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to learn technical concepts quickly and apply them effectively in the workplace.
- Able to adapt to changing business requirements and react quickly.
- Strong customer focus and results oriented attitude.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages are an asset).
