Senior Cobol Designer/Developer Job

SENIOR COBOL DESIGNER/DEVELOPER needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION DOES NOT ALLOW FOR WORKING REMOTELY, AS SUCH THE INCUMBENT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE IN CLIENT'S CHARLOTTE, NC LOCATION.

MUST BE CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US FOR ANY EMPLOYER.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Seven plus (7+) years of Cobol development
- Cobol application design experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Will be designing (within the "homegrown" constructs already in place), constructing, testing.
- Need experience successfully running multiple projects at a time, at the enterprise level.
- Endevor is their service code management tool. This team is extremely busy! It will be an exciting challenge for the right candidate. This assignment is within the CIS - Western Carolina Team.
- Roles and responsibilities include:
- Understanding requirements and developing application enhancements for large scale applications per IT standards
- Creating detailed Cobol application designs
- Coding new functions and enhancements to existing applications per requirements
- Documenting and executing unit test cases for developed code
- Troubleshooting and resolving application defects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- The candidate should have strong design skills with Cobol applications and strong DB2 skills.
- Also, strong English communication skills are required.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior experience with the following is preferred:
- Large Scale Applications
- Customer Billing Systems
- Common functions that interface with multiple Back End systems.
